Where is the Orkin Termite Training Facility?It is at the UF/IFAS Mid-Florida Research and Education Center in Apopka, Florida. Map and directions are here. Parking is available onsite.
Be sure to complete your pre-work from the CD. You must complete the pre and post test of the pre-work material and score 80% or higher on the final exam before attending the hands-on session at the facility.
The "Foundations of Termite Management" course will be begin promptly at 8:00 AM on Wednesday morning and will end at noon on Friday. Please arrive early to pick up your notebook and nametag and meet your instructors.
The "General Household Pest Management Basics" course will be begin promptly at 8:00 AM and will end at 5:00 PM. Please arrive early to pick up your notebook and nametag and meet your instructors.

Is smoking allowed at the facility?
There are designated smoking areas at the UF/IFAS Mid-Florida Research and Education Center. As you approach the building, there is a smoking area to the right of the door. You will see a sign and an ash tray where smoking is allowed. Please do not place cigarette butts in the trash can at the entrance to the building. Also note, that smoking is not allowed within 50 feet of an entrance door.
While at the UF/IFAS Mid-Florida Research and Education Center, you may only make and receive phone calls during class breaks and lunch. Please be courteous of your classmates and place your phone on silent when you arrive. This is a professional learning environment, and you are expected to attend all class sessions and be on time. The instructors reserve the right to remove any unruly or uncooperative student from class without refund of fees.
You will be in a working environment, so please dress accordingly. We ask that you wear long pants and work shoes (no open-toed shoes) while class is in session.
This is a hands-on training on the foundations of termite management. You will review legal aspects of termite management, safety while using termiticides, termite biology, calibration of equipment, and will perform various mock-ups of termite treatments on a variety of construction elements.
